What to Expect at Your Massage

Before your first appointment you will be asked to fill out health history and client forms. You can do this through email or with the therapist before your first appointment. Generally on these forms they ask about medical conditions, medications you are taking, areas of concern, and your contact information. Just remember massage effects the body systems and can have an effect on the medications you are taking, so it is important to be honest. All clients’ rights of privacy are respected.

Because our location is shared office space please just take a seat in the waiting room and your therapist will be out shortly to get started.

Before the massage, the therapist will discuss with you, your health history. You and the therapist will take this time to see where the massage needs to be adjusted to meet your needs. The therapist will discuss with you the plan for that session and answer any questions or concerns you may have. The therapist will leave the room so you can dress down to your level of comfort and get on the massage table. When you are covered and ready the massage therapist will enter the room. The therapist will then begin the massage by starting the music, please let them know if you would prefer different or no music.

During the massage you will be completely covered, only exposing the area they are working on. There will be communication between you and the therapist asking about pressure and comfort throughout the massage. If you are uncomfortable at any time tell the therapist and adjustments will be made.

Once the massage has ended the therapist will leave the room so you can get up and get dressed. Feel free to take some time for yourself to get adjusted. When you are dressed and ready the therapist will enter the room and do a post session follow up to see how you are feeling.

After the session, enjoy the relaxing effects of massage. Just remember to drink lots of water after a massage session to flush the body.

Payments in full will be expected prior to your massage, or immediately after your session. River Rock Massage Therapy accepts all major credit cards, cash, and checks. Or payments can be made online at the time of scheduling.
